As health advocates, the ‘Time to Act’ is now

Hear from international and Australian experts about why now is the ‘Time to Act’ for a safer climate and a healthier future for our children and grandchildren.
According to the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, it is 100 seconds to midnight and the ‘Time to Act’ is now. Doctors for the Environment Australia (DEA) have been at the forefront of raising awareness within the health sector that climate change is the biggest public health threat of the century.
Climate change is a health emergency, and has been recognised as such by WHO, Lancet, AMA, and 7 medical colleges. It is core business for the medical profession.
We are already seeing the impacts of fire, floods and other natural disasters firsthand in our clinics, hospitals and ED.
We need to act now to protect the health of communities and ensure that our children and grandchildren have the best chance for a healthy future.
